Tremors

Reba McEntire
Kevin Bacon
Fred Ward

This movie marks Reba’s premier in front of the camera for a major motion picture. Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward star as Val and Earl, two country handymen who lead a cast of characters to safety in this exciting sci-fi comedy. As Val and Earl prepare to leave Perfection, Nevada, quakes crash their plans. With the help of a seismology student, they find that their desolate town is overrun with huge man-eating creatures that live underground. The race is on to destroy the slimy subterraneans and find a way to higher ground in this amusing thriller co-starring Reba and Michael Gross. Not surprisingly, Tremors has become a cult classic.

Reba Recalls: I was touring at this time and also planning my marriage to Narvel Blackstock, who is also my manager. I would complete week-end shows, fly to Los Angeles, CA, get on a commuter flight to Inyokerns, CA and head to the motel for a few hours of sleep before they came to pick me up for a 5:30am call. My Mother went out on one of the trips to film and we drove to Reno, CA. after the shoot, picked up Narvel, and drove to Lake Tahoe, NV. where I had three shows at the Caesars Tahoe Resort and Casino. On Saturday, our families boarded a catamarand and sailed to Emerald Bay for our wedding. It was beautiful. That night we had a reception with all the band, crew and family. It was truly, a day to remember!

Tremors

This was Reba’s first movie.
“Beneath Perfection” was the original title of this movie before it was changed to Tremors.

The Gambler Returns: The Luck Of The Draw

Reba Recalls: Kenny Rogers’ manager, Ken Kragin, called Narvel in the early part of the summer of 1991. Only a couple of months after the fatal plane crash that took the lives of seven band members and my tour manager, Narvel thought it would be the best thing for me to do. He felt it would keep my mind busy, because the grief from the loss of my friends was still so severe. Ken’s phone call was a Godsend.

During the filming of “The Gambler”, Narvel’s oldest daughter, Shawna, gave birth to her daughter, Chelsea, July 11, 1991. A new life, a new beginning in the next chapter of my life.

My friendship with Kenny Rogers has grown throughout the years. It’s the best thing that comes out of working—making friends!

Also during the shooting, came Fan Fair! Sandi Spika (my stylist and assistant) and I finished shooting that day, hopped on a plane and flew to Nashville. I did a show for my fan club members and signed autographs up until 2:30am, when I got on a plane again and flew back to L.A. We went straight to the set and started getting ready for the day’s shooting schedule.

The Man From Left Field

Reba McEntire
Burt Reynolds

Burt Reynolds directs and stars in this uplifting, light-hearted movie co-starring Reba and a bright, young cast of scene-stealers. Reynold’s character Jack came from out of nowhere-a dark, mysterious stranger who drifts in from the outfield of a south Florida baseball field. He has no job, no name, no past, and no place to live. He may look like a nightmare, but for a group of misfit kids from the wrong side of the tracks, he looks like a dream come true. With no coach for their baseball team, they appoint the only person they can find-the “man from left field.”

Although Jack is fast becoming a hero to the kids, many questions still surround him. Slowly, the puzzle of Jack’s unknown past is pieced together by Nancy Lee (Reba), the beautiful, baseball-crazy mother of the team’s star pitcher.

Now, the “man from left field” is going to discover if you can come from nowhere and end up in first place.

The Man From Left Field

Reba Recalls: I took a trip down to Jupiter, Florida to shoot this movie for television. It was a fun shoot, with friends and family taking turns to go with me. The weather was beautiful there on the coast of Florida. I also loved working with Burt Reynolds. All of the young men in the film were from Burt’s school of acting. They did a marvelous job. Burt has given back a tremendous amount of love and support to the town of Jupiter, Florida.

North

Reba McEntire
Elijah Wood
Dan Aykroyd
Bruce Willis
Kathy Bates
Jason Alexander
Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Directed by Rob Reiner, North is a family comedy that appeals to the child in everyone. Eleven-year-old North (Elijah Wood) sets out on an adventurous journey searching for the perfect parents. Along the way, he meets a colorful cast of prospective parents including Reba, Dan Aykroyd, Bruce Willis, Kathy Bates, Jason Alexander, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Reba Recalls: The picture was filmed in California on location and on the lot. I totally enjoyed working with Elijah and Dan. The hours were great also, since Elijah was a minor and could only work for a certain amount of hours each day. He was in almost every scene, so it made it a very relaxed movie to be in.

I was finishing up the movie and also filming the video, “Does He Love You”. Jon Small, the director of the video, asked Rob Reiner, the director of the movie, to play the director in the video! (confusing isn’t it?) So they flew Linda Davis out to L.A. and filmed the ending of the video on the last day of the movie.

North

Memorable Quotes:

Pa Tex: Remember before when I told you that everything I own is the biggest and the best? Well you’re already the best. Now there’s nothing left but to make you the biggest.
Ma Tex: And don’t fret about not being able to clean up your plate. Why soon your stomach will stretch and stretch and your capacity for food will grow and grow.
North: You say that like that’s a good thing to have happen to your stomach.
Pa Tex: It is.
North: Why?
Ma Tex: Then you’ll be like Buck.
North: Who?
Pa Tex: Our first son. The biggest boy this big state’s ever seen. Why he could eat more in one day than anyone else could eat in a whole month.
Ma Tex: That’s why Buck hated February.

The Little Rascals

Reba McEntire, Travis Tedford, Bug Hall, Brittany Ashton Holmes, Kevin Jamal Woods, Zachary Mabry, Ross Bagley (I), Sam Saletta, Blake Jeremy Collins, Blake McIver Ewing, Jordan Warkol, Courtland Mead, Juliette Brewer, Heather Karasek, Mel Brooks, Whoopi Goldberg

They’re all here! Spanky, Alfalfa, Buckwheat, Darla, Symie, Porky, Petey the dog, and all of the rascals star in this hilarious motion picture hit. The Little Rascals brings a brand new generation of rascals to today’s audience.

Recapturing the sense of innocent fun and positive chaos that made the original series a classic and favorite for decades, the new adventures begin at an emergency meeting of the “He-Man Woman Haters Club.”

Alfalfa has fallen in love with Darla, endangering the survival of their “boys-only” club. More trouble arises when the clubhouse is demolished and their prized go-cart, “The Blur,” is stolen by neighborhood bullies. How will they be able to win the big race and its trophy? Adding to their troubles is the new kid in town, Waldo, who is refined and rich…and also wooing Darla. And look for Reba making a special guest appearance in the movie as the woman who really turns everyone’s head.

Through mischief and mayhem, tricks and ingenuity, the rascals will learn the value of true friendship…and maybe even an appreciation of girls!

The Little Rascals

Reba Recalls: I could relate to this movie! I was already a huge fan of The Little Rascals, because my son Shelby, watched them all the time. It took only one day to film my part in L.A. but it sure was fun. All the children were so cute!

A year later, during intermission at an Eagles’ concert in Nashville, TN, I went backstage to say hi to the band. Glenn Frye’s little daughter wouldn’t talk to me at first, until her Mother said, “Honey, do you know who this is?” And the cute little 3 year old said, “That’s A.J. Ferguson!!”

Is There Life Out There

Reba McEntire
Keith Carradine
Donald Moffat

Based on the song performed by Reba, Is There Life Out There? brings together the singer/actress and screen veteran Keith Carradine as a married couple riding out a tough stretch of life’s highway. Joining these two multi-talented performers is Donald Moffat as the strong but silent Grandpa Walter, a man of few words, but great wisdom.

Lily Marshall has a loving and supportive husband, two fantastic kids, and an unfulfilled dream: to go back to college and earn the degree she always wanted. “Is there life beyond her family and her home?” Lily asks herself. The hole in Lily’s life is soon filled by too much: the confusing new social life at school, homework keeping her up late, a job that keeps her away from her husband, and children whose mother is becoming a stranger. Lily’s strength, love, and perseverance are the only things that can save her now.

Reba Recalls: Shot in Tennessee, I loved doing this movie. It was the first time I had played the leading role and I accepted the challenge head on! The theme of the movie touched my heart the first time I sang about it in the song. It continued to grow in the video and then blossomed into a movie for television.

Buffalo Girls

Then the following January, I took my Mother, Jac, sister, Alice, and friend Pam Keller to England with me to tape the rest of my scenes. We located out of the town of Bath, England, for the scenes, but on our day off, took a train trip up to Scotland. It was truly a memorable event in my life.

Forever Love

Reba McEntire
Tim Matheson
Bess Armstrong
Heather Stephens

In the movie, Reba stars as Lizzie Brooks, a young Mom who falls into a coma in the 70’s, and wakens some 20 years later to find her whole life has changed. Her young daughter is now a young woman about to be married, and her husband has gone through his own changes. Reba’s dramatic turn has been well-received by those who have viewed the film. Co-starring in the movie with Reba are Tim Matheson and Bess Armstrong.

Reba Recalls: This is the second time I have been able to include my music with a movie. The first time was “Is There Life Out There.” It’s a big thrill to get to include some of my music with the movies. It’s been nine years since I filmed my first movie, “Tremors” and it’s a good feeling to still be a apart (even though it’s small) of the movie industry. This movie is a little different than “Tremors”, to say the least! It’s a beautiful love story about a woman who after 20 years in a coma, wakes to find the world has gone on without her. It’s based on a true story and was quite unbelievable the first time I read the script. I got to meet the daughter of the woman that was in the coma and I couldn’t believe this family’s story. I hope you all enjoy my latest adventure into the movie world!

Forever Love

Interview with Reba:

1. Do you have a favorite scene in the movie?

I love the scene when I first see my daughter, Emma, after I wake up from a 20 year coma. It moved me very much, as you can tell when you watch it.

2. Did you have to do anything special to train or prepare for this role?

There was a medic named George on the set who showed me some of the things that happen to people in comas. That helped me understand what I would look like while I was sleeping.

3. What was it like to work with Tim Matheson and Bess Armstrong?

They were both wonderful to work with. The best thing about the movie was the great friends I made. Bess and I have gotten together since the movie for dinners but Tim went straight to Canada to direct a movie that will be out soon. It was great getting to work with two professional actors. I learned a lot from both of them!

4. How long did it take to film the movie?

18 days actual filming days that took place over a four week period.

5. How does this role different from the other ones you have played?

I got to lay down on this movie for two whole days during shooting!

6. The song “Forever Love” fits the movie so well, how did you find the song?

When we were in Los Angeles filming, we thought that since it was a love story, need a great love song. So we sent the script to Starstruck Writers Group and a little while later, Sunny Russ, Deanna Bryant and Liz Hengber sent us this beautiful love song.

7. Where was the movie filmed?

In Los Angeles, California. Some of the scenes were shot in Pasadena and some were shot south of Santa Monica.

8. Do you have plans for more movies in the future?

Yes. I’m currently looking at scripts that will be in production sometime next year.

9. How does watching yourself acting on screen compare to listening to your records?

It’s very similar. I’m very critical, always wanting another chance to try and do it better. But, when I listen to myself sing in the studio, if I don’t like it I can go back and sing it again. In the movies, the director makes that decision and the scenes are finished before I get to see it. So I can’t go back and change anything in the movies like I can in the studio singing. So basically, I have a lot more control and say so with the music.

Note : This is one of the hardest of Reba’s movies to purchase, as the distributor went out of business.

Memorable Quotes:

Lizzie: No one has ever lived their vows with more devotion than you have. Now I promise to help remember all of the things we’ve dreamed when we were young, and reclaim them for our future.

One Night at McCool’s

Reba McEntire
Liv Tyler
Matt Dillion
John Goodman
Paul Reiser
Michael Douglas

It all started one night at McCool’s…three unsuspecting men and one woman with a dream are brought together by lust, mayhem, bingo, DVDs, and the finer points of home decorating.

One Night at McCool’s is a sexy, rapid-fire black comedy; and the first project from actor/producer Michael Douglas’ production company, Further Films.

McCool’s bar was hopping that night, Randy (Matt Dillion) worked there, tending bar. Lawyer Carl (Paul Reiser) was there until past closing. Detective Dehling (John Goodman) got there once McCool’s became a crime scene. Was it the dead body that tied these men together? Not as tightly as the live wire who was also there that night: the stunning young woman aptly named Jewel (Liv Tyler).

Before the night was over, she had become all the three men could think about; she moved in on/with one, made the other forget his (living) wife, and made the third forget his (dead) wife. As one of the men would point out in a rare moment of clarity, “The sex and violence, all in one night “it’s a little much.” With a woman like Jewel, there was more “much more!” to come. Jewel was more trouble than these three men were worth… and what he wanted was bigger than all of them put together.

A steamy story told from three very different points of view that ultimately become one, One Night at McCool’s marks the feature film debut of acclaimed commercials director Harald Zwart.

October Films presents a Further Films production. A Harald Zwart Film. Liv Tyler, Matt Dillion, John Goodman, Paul Reiser, Reba McEntire, and Michael Douglas. One Night at McCool’s. Casting by Juel Bestrop.
