The Man From Left Field
Reba McEntire
Burt Reynolds
Burt Reynolds directs and stars in this uplifting, light-hearted movie co-starring Reba and a bright, young cast of scene-stealers. Reynold’s character Jack came from out of nowhere-a dark, mysterious stranger who drifts in from the outfield of a south Florida baseball field. He has no job, no name, no past, and no place to live. He may look like a nightmare, but for a group of misfit kids from the wrong side of the tracks, he looks like a dream come true. With no coach for their baseball team, they appoint the only person they can find-the “man from left field.”
Although Jack is fast becoming a hero to the kids, many questions still surround him. Slowly, the puzzle of Jack’s unknown past is pieced together by Nancy Lee (Reba), the beautiful, baseball-crazy mother of the team’s star pitcher.
Now, the “man from left field” is going to discover if you can come from nowhere and end up in first place.
Reba Recalls: I took a trip down to Jupiter, Florida to shoot this movie for television. It was a fun shoot, with friends and family taking turns to go with me. The weather was beautiful there on the coast of Florida. I also loved working with Burt Reynolds. All of the young men in the film were from Burt’s school of acting. They did a marvelous job. Burt has given back a tremendous amount of love and support to the town of Jupiter, Florida.
