In her four decades as an entertainer, Reba McEntire has amassed an impressingly diverse fan base, crossing all musical genres. This holiday season, she’ll surely be embraced by another group of music lovers when she pairs up with an international superstar, opera singer Andrea Bocelli. And who else could bring an Oklahoma-born country singer and Italian-born tenor together but a King - The King to be precise. The two will collaborate on Elvis Presley’s holiday classic, ‘Blue Christmas’
The track will be included on Andrea Bocelli’s holiday-themed album, produced by David Foster, and will also be part of a PBS TV special set to air in November.
“Andrea’s a huge fan of Elvis Presley,” Reba tells the Toronto Sun. “I sat there in awe. I just loved it. [His voice] is like rich frosting on a cake—decadent. It’s so full. I stood there right beside him and just watched him. He’s a very handsome man.”
Others paired up with Bocelli for the special will include Natalie Cole, Mary J. Blige and the Muppets.
